Finding a Quality Automotive Repair Shop

Whether you are new in town or are just looking for someone to service your vehicle, finding a new automotive repair facility can sometimes be a difficult task.  Next to your house, your vehicle is most likely the largest investment you have and you want to ensure that it will be there for you for as long as possible.
First, you want to look for a repair shop when you are not in an immediate need.  A more sound decision is made when you're not facing an urgent need for transportation because your vehicle just broke down.  You want to research a repair shop similar to a doctor's office.  Ask for recommendations from your friends, co-workers, social media network.  Research the companies online, do they have a website, Facebook page, online customer reviews?
Visit the location.  Look for a tidy, well-organized facility.  Does it have an adequate waiting room that meets your needs.  Is the staff courteous and helpful? The manager, owner, service writer, or technician should be willing to answer your questions thoroughly.  Do they have modern equipment in the service bays.
Look for signs of technician competence.  Are there signs of continuing education, certificates of advanced coursework or ASE certifications.
If you are interested, Start with a small or minor job, such as an oil change or tire rotation. Reward good service with repeat business and more complex work.
Find out if they provide estimates and offer a guarantee of their work.  Select a repair facility that makes you feel good when you leave.

Always remember that a well maintained vehicle is a safer one.
